For six decades, a legendary tradition has called to the finest equestrians across the region. Every year, riders from every corner of Georgia and North Florida gather with one shared goal: to step into the arena, showcase their passion, and compete for the ultimate title of State Champion.

This year, we celebrate a monumental milestone: 61 years of championship tradition.

Our story began in 1967, when the very first State Show brought communities together in local, grassroots arenas across the state—from Lavonia and Americus to Waycross and Warner Robins. In those early days, host clubs proudly opened their home arenas, laying the foundation for a legacy that would grow stronger with every passing decade.

As the competition expanded, so did our footprint. From 1984 to 1989, the thrilling action moved to the Southeastern Arena in Unadilla—culminating in a memorable show hosted by Deep Dixie—before calling Hawkinsville home from 1990 through 1992. Then, in 1993, Georgia Mountain ushered in a vibrant new era as the State Show made its debut at the iconic facility in Perry.

Sixty One years later, the arena lights burn just as bright, the competitive spirit runs just as deep, and the dream of being named the best remains unmatched. Here’s to six decades of grit, grace, and greatness—and to the riders who continue to ride for the history books!

We invite you to join us at the Georgia National Fairgrounds September 3rd - 6th, 2027 to get in on the fun and cheer on these rider.
