IMPORTANT
As every Association starts their new season - please be aware of the current year changes.

The Age Rule
Let me help you understand
Federation rules state the class you are eligible to participate in is based on your age as of January 1, of the current state show year. If the state show date is September 2023, then the age is based off January 1 2023. Even if you show in October 2022, if the points are for the 2023 state show then you must ride in the age division based on your age on January 1, 2023.  If you failed to ride in your correct class, you will not be eligible to participate at state as your President cannot verify you follow the rules.  Also, say you didn't ride in your correct class, slipped in at state and had a smoking run- win 1st but you are only 41 in the 43 and over.  So the winner of 2nd is 43 and protest - you just lost !

Let's all do this correctly.

Congratulations

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO
GEORGIA MOUNTAIN ASSOCIATION
ON AN AWESOME 2020 STATE SHOW

The Opening Ceremony with the Drill Team was Outstanding.  The patriotism along with the beautiful riders and horses, the horsemanship, and the large and numerous American Flags set the tone for the entire weekend.  There were some tears in the crowd as all were touched.  The Veteran Speaker was dynamic.  If anyone missed it, they surely missed a lot.

The show ran smooth and any concerns were hit head on by the GMASC.  Positive comments were everywhere.

Recognition of Gene Nix and his participation and contributions to the Federation for the past 50+ years was well deserved.  It was also good to see him compete again - and we figure again next year as well.

I would like to thank the Federation for the gift and recognition of my service for the past 23 years.  It has truly been a fun ride, a great time, so many wonderful memories.  I am so blessed to have been given this opportunity and to have met so many wonderful people over the years.  I have made so many friends thru this journey and treasure each one. God has truly blessed me.

Love each and every one,

Cheryl Powell

PS - I am sure glad I don't have to come behind GMASC and HOST next year, big shoes to fill.  I may have to sneak around and see if I can help Flint River some (well, maybe)
